The water cycle and clouds
Alcos #12 - *Identify cloud types associated with specific weather patterns
Our class studied the water cycle, cloud formation, and various forms of weather clouds. We have been keeping a weather journal to keep track of temperature change and cloud types from day to day. We have previewed several videos from Discovery Education and Brainpop to increase our understanding of the topics. We also had a visitor come to demonstrate the water cycle, how water is constantly moving, and how clouds are formed from water droplets. After exploring the topics students were able to draw and label the water cycle and create a cloud foldable to share their knowledge.
WEatHer - Earthquakes
We will present to other classes the 13th
ALcos #12 - IDENTIFY CONDITIONS THAT RESULT IN SPECIFIC WEATHER PHENOMENA, INCLUDING THUNDERSTORMS, TORNADOES, AND HURRICANES.
In assigned groups, make a presentation using Key Note on GoogleDocs about Earthquakes. A recording sheet has been provided to each student to help guide them while they answer the following questions: 1. What is an earthquake? 2. How is it formed? 3. What technology is used to detect it? 4. What are the positive and negative impacts? 5. Tell about an earthquake in history.
Your groups will present your presentation to the class your group has been assigned. You will be graded using the project rubric below (one has been given to you), as well as a presentation grade. EVERYONE needs to present some part of the presentation!!!
Other 3rd grade classes will be presenting to us the other weather phenomenons. We will have a test on all the information presented at the end.
Use the links below, as well as the links I have added to ICurio, and a book I have assigned on Big Universe.

Reflection- to be completed after your presentation
After you present your research on Thursday to your assigned class, follow the link below to reflect on this experience. Be mindful of the experience and include any details you would like to share with me. I will be the only one seeing your responses, no classmate will know what you submitted. I want to know how your group worked together and I want to know what you thought of this project.
