data- information collected about people or things
frequency table- a table that uses numbers to record data
picture graph- uses small pictures or symbols to show and compare information
key- the part of a map or graph that explains the symbols
bar graph- a graph that sues bars to show data
horizontal bar graph- a bar graph in which the bars are read from left to right (side
to side)
vertical bar graph- a bar graph in which the bars are read from the top to the
bottom (up and down)
scale- the numbers placed at fixed distance on a graph to help label the graph
line plot- uses marks to record each piece of data above a number line
